Recently, the adorable little pudding pops at Donna Karan sent me a link to watch their beautiful and brilliant PR tour de force, Aliza Licht (Donna, you’re lucky to have her), on Martha Stewart doing a segment on the DKNY Cozy. Even though I have been a huge fan of DKNY forever, I was sadly in the dark about this fab acre of cashmere and silk that would soon become such an integral part of my life.
The segment featured Aliza showing Martha how the Cozy was not just your run of the mill wrap. She managed to tie it about a billion (12) different ways to make it work as everything from a super chic criss-cross tunic, to a back tied v-neck sweater, to a dress, to a sexy off the shoulder top – perfect for that last minute work to wow switcheroo. The wrap was modeled, in a rainbow of perfect hues, by none other than Martha and an assortment of her too-cute-to-all-work-in-one-office staff. As the segment ended, I realized I had fallen in love with the Cozy. So had Martha it seemed, if the pool of desirous drool around her was any indication.
It’s no surprise therefore, unapologetic swag slut that I am, that I immediately called the DKNY press office and requested one (in black please) to review. When it arrived, to be honest, the box sat on my dining room table for a few days. Then one day I was running out the door and was slightly chilled, as I am so very thin (mental lying technique compliments of The Secret), so I ripped open the box and grabbed my Cozy. Since then, my world has been swathed in a black cashmere dream – poetic, no?
Yes, I have worn it almost everyday since picking it up off my dining room table. Yes, it has chocolate on the sleeve. And yes, perhaps it smells a little due to my incessant sweating problem (see earlier post, “Cooling with Karl”), yet I care not. It is black, ties tons of different ways (so people don’t know I am wearing the same thing everyday), and most importantly, it covers my ass quite nicely.
Perhaps you can tell that I think the DKNY Cozy – or as I consider it, the veritable Hermes Scarf of the knit world, is my fab must-have for Fall…..congrats Donna, you’ve done it again!
Big kiss!
